The International Society of Christian Apologetics would like to thank Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for hosting its 5th annual conference. This year’s theme was “Creation: Meaning & Implications”. Our program chair for the 2010 conference was Dr. Craig V. Mitchell, who did an outstanding job in putting things together for the conference. The meeting was held on April 23rd-24th with record attendance and was a huge success. The society has grown every year and we are excited by the number of people present for this year’s meeting.
Additionally, we would like to thank all the participants in this year’s conference. Drs. William Dembski and Henry Morris, III were the plenary speakers for this year’s meeting, each speaking on important issues pertaining to this year’s theme. Attendees also had the privilege of hearing their panel discussion on the age of the earth. Both men demonstrated expertise, professionalism, and Christian kindness in their discussion with each other on the issue. There were also 48 paper presentations during breakout sessions covering a wide variety of issues.
The society also elected new officers to the executive committee. We would like to welcome Dr. Phil Roberts as our new President, and Kerby Anderson as Vice President. In addition to his responsibilities as Secretary, Dr. James Dew, Jr. will also assume the role of Treasurer. Drs. Norman Geisler and Winfried Corduan will remain on the executive committee as Past Presidents, and Drs. Chad Meister and Khaldoun Sweis will continue in their current roles as Journal Editor and Member-At-Large respectively. Jared Martinez will also continue in his role as Webmaster. Each of these men brings experience and leadership which will be of great value as we continue to grow.
Finally, we are excited to announce Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC as the host for the 2011 conference. Our theme will be “The Problem of Evil”. The 2011 meeting will be held on April 29th-30th, 2011. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend the 2011 meeting. This event is already shaping up to be our greatest meeting yet and we would love to see you there. Specific details will be coming soon to this website.
Thank you for your interest in Christian apologetics and your partnership with our society. We look forward to serving with you in the future!
